The Story

A neighbor was overheard discussing how Christmas would look different that year — gifts simply weren’t in the budget. That moment sparked a simple idea: what if the community stepped in?
With the support of Colin at Colin’s Coffee in Upper Arlington, Ohio, the shop opened on Christmas Day and tips were collected to help. Friends showed up. Neighbors gave. Generosity multiplied.
What began as one act of kindness quickly became something bigger.
Today, The Giving Gathering exists because of the people who give — friends, local businesses, volunteers, and donors who believe that no one should feel alone during difficult seasons. We simply help connect generosity to need.

Who We Serve

The Giving Gathering is dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing hardships, regardless of the season. Focusing on those who are often overlooked, The Giving Gathering strives to provide essential resources and a sense of belonging.

Efforts extend to the underserved, from lower-income families to those who are currently battling housing insecurity and anyone in need of a helping hand. Ensuring that dignity and compassion are at the heart of everything we do is our primary focus.
